We presented works and artists we are drawn to and looked at how they may influence our work. After discussions within our peer group it was interesting to see common threads and themes occuring, showing particular paths and worlds which our work is taking. we were asked to use words which reflect our tastes and this is what I uncovered about myself and my design proclivities.
The following qualities/themes occured [more than once] during my peer feedback;
linear Tattoo Style
Graffiti Street Art
For my self initiated project I’ll be using a selection which are relevant to this new peice of work.
My Plan-To produce a stylistic, fantastical Gothic heart model with moving/fluttering wings, housed in a bell jar with a nod to Victorian Curriossity. My model would have potential to be animated and would provide a good oppurtunity to transition to paint and print, exploring icons and symbols.
Materials and Skills Needed; Spray paint, marker pens, vacuum forming, motor,switch,battery, taxidermy wings, bell jar[glass cosh], dowling, skewers, plastic tubes, plaster for heart mould and 3D planning and problem solving skills.
I’ll look to source the following Tutors/technicians for there relevant expertise to help guide my work and aid my progress; Charlie-3D Technician, Ian-Model Work, Paul-Print.
